Rest Day in Kirkby Stephen, Day 10

I am so glad to have had a rest day today. Yesterday’s walk wasn’t so strenuous, maybe it was the constant wind, but last night I was extremely tired. I needed today to just do laundry, wander around Kirkby Stephen, and just generally take it easy!

We are staying at the loveliest B&B. It is Fletcher House and the photos really don’t do it justice.

Britain is preparing for the Queen’s Jubilee. All the little villages are putting flags
Have seen several of these crocheted caps on the post boxes.
Doors and gates in walls fascinate me
A Saxon church was on this site, then a Norman Church was built here in 1170 but it didn’t last long. In 1220 they started building this church. The tower was added in the 1500s and other parts in the 1800s. Talk about a long history!
Kirkby Stephen is a small town along a river. It has lots of these narrow passages leading in to the town center.
Getting closer with every step!

    hi there lady I am heading for the coast camping tomorrow and will be gone almost a week with no wifi but I do want to let you know how much I love following you and Nancy on your trek. Your descriptions and thoughts bring all of us right along with you. And I also want to say……WAY TO GO!!!!! The C2C is NOT easy.
