We are in England again! This time David and I will be hiking with our friends Nancy, June, and John. We all flew in to Heathrow on different days and took the train to Winchester.

David and I left home at 10 AM on Monday, and after about 18 hours of traveling, we arrived in Winchester, tired and ready for a nap. While the plane ride was not uncomfortable, we both only slept for about an hour; we just were not sleepy. The trickiest part was by train from Heathrow Airport to Winchester. The helpfulness and kindness of all the rail line workers was amazing, though, and they got us on the right train at the right time. Since we were getting tired by that point, navigating the changes to three different trains seemed much more challenging than anything before on the trip. Nancy met at us at the train station and guided us right to our accommodations. She came over a couple of days earlier than us so she knew where she was going. At that point in our tiredness, it was so good to not have to figure out the directions to our inn.

The first thing on our agenda was a two hour nap for both of us. We then went out for a walk and ran in to June and John by Winchester Cathedral. We had a quick stroll together, mainly concentrating on finding some place to eat. We ended up having dinner at the Old Vine, the inn where we are staying.
