Another casual day! Nancy and I agreed the Cotswolds part of our trip is like a walk in the park.
My day started with a walk around town; morning is the perfect time to get photos without all the tourists in the way.

It was misty and cool this morning. We were fortunate in the weather again as it remained cool and cloudy all day, but there was no rain. More than one person has told us that if we were here this time last year, (or the past three Aprils) we would be getting rained on. Fingers-crossed, but the rest of our time here, we have good weather forecasts. But of course, that can change at any moment!

Just before the village of Naunton, we passed by/through a huge, very impressive race horse training facility. It is owned by Ben Pauling, who apparently is a big name in horse racing.

We stopped at 11:45 at the Black Horse Inn for lunch, but they didn’t start serving food until 12:00, so it was a very leisurely lunch. There was a group of about ten women tucked in the corner by the fire chattering away. We couldn’t tell if they were having a meeting of some sort or if it was just a social gathering; I suspect the latter because they all seemed to be talking at the same time the entire time we were there. From the way they greeted each other, it looked like a regular occurrence.

Our taxi was to meet us at Guiting Power at 4:00, but Nancy had called and rescheduled it for 3:00 before we left this morning. We figured that would still give us plenty of time to get there without hurrying. Even with our extra long lunch break, we arrived at 2:00. We waited for it sitting outside the Old Post Office, just soaking in the quiet village’s vibe, wondering what it would be like to live in a sweet little place like Guiting Power.

Hi there Carla All went well at the Lodge yesterday. Jen and I got there around 5:45pm and wow…..Joyce had it almost all set up!! What a nice surprise. Jennifer will fill you in on passing out the paid for sweatshirts and vests I picked up. Two are still unclaimed and we left them in the box. Ann McKee purchased out of the Entertainment fund a long sleeve shirt for the speaker. She paid for it and will get reimbursed from her committee. A woman came up to me saying she was here to get the gift she won at summer camp. She said she was one of the two members who had the most Obsidian clothes on and was told she won. She took the last fleece headband and Dorothy VanWinkle won the ticket drawing and got the last visor. We sold a few things but low turnout, thus low sales….. All is put away upstairs in the plastic boxes. Enjoy your last couple of days Weather is cloudy here and looks like we lost our sunshine over the weekend, Chris
